Billy was a National Team Gymnast turned dancer/actor/circus and acrobatic character. He trained as a gymnast at the Olympic Training Center and became a member of the US National Team, an All- American and team captain at the University of Nebraska, where he studied advertising, marketing and dabbled in theater & dance. Billy and Gwyn met and performed in the early days of De La Guarda and also with Fuerza Bruta, Cirque du Soleil, Pilobolus, the Met Opera in multiple productions with Robert Lepage as well as in film and TV as stunt performers. They are also the co-creators and co-directors of Breaking Surface, a flying, dance-theater production that fuses acting, dancing, and acrobatics over a darkly flooded stage.

Gwyn was a contemporary dancer and aerialist turned actor/stunt woman. Both Gwyn and Billy were founding members of AiRealistic where they choreographed, rigged, designed and created full scale aerial work for many directors including; Julie Taymor (Midsummer Night's Dream at TFANA), Keith Warner (Andre Chenier at Bregenz Opera) and for many corporate clients. They founded 5th Wall Studio to return to their original intention of creating genre blurring live performances and to teach flying movement that cracks open the heart.

Float Fitness: Aerial Core

Rebecca received her BFA in Dance at The Ohio State University. She trained with Hubbard Street Dance Company and performed in Italy with Pro Danza Italia. Some credits include: Aerial Captain for Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de Perles at the Metropolitan Opera, Aerialist at the LA Opera, NBC’s “I Can Do That”, Off Broadway’s Rock and Roll Debauchery. Regional credits include: Spamalot, Legally Blonde, and West Side Story. Rebecca recently performed with 5th Wall Studio’s production of Breaking Surface. FABIO ANGELO

Fabio was born and raised in Rosario, Argentina where he began his dance training in Argentine Folk at the age of 5. Shortly after that, he joined the renowned Ballet Latinoamericano in Rosario where he dance for 11 years. He later joined the internationally acclaimed Circus Orlando Orfei as a dancer, and advanced his aerial arts training in silks and trapeze. Recent credits include: Evita (NY City Center), Breaking Surface (5th Wall Studio), Saturday Night Fever (Broadway), and in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s upcoming movie adaptation of In the Heights.

 

OLGA KARMANSKY

A US Champion and two-time Pan American Champion in Rhythmic Gymnastics. Official Olympic Alternate Athens, Greece. She is an acrobat and flexibility/contortion instructor, teaching in NYC and worldwide. Olga began to form her advanced but egalitarian training philosophy while living and training with the Russian Olympic team and believes her students will achieve extreme results regardless of age, previous injury or level of experience.

BENJAMIN E OYZON

Benny has been dancing and flying through the air as an aerial acrobat in NYC for over 15 years. He has had the pleasure of performing and rigging with ABCirque, Only Child Aerial Theatre, Kinesis Project, AiRealistic, Grounded Aerial, 2nd Species, The Metropolitan Opera, Gabrielle Roth, Forces of Nature, Dance Anonymus, Groove Hoops, and too many more. With Science Degrees in both Theater and Civil Engineering, Benny has now mainly shifted to the other end of the ropes. He is constantly creating different ways to find the beauty in nature, and the magic in physics.

JO MACALDO

With a degree in Dramatic Arts from Harvard University, Jo was an actor/dancer/aerialist for many years before stumbling upon producing for theater. Producing credits include: 5th Wall Studio’s Breaking Surface, Suites by Sondheim (Lincoln Center), BWAY-LIVE.COM Presents Lea Salonga - Live (Jazz at Lincoln Center), Kaleidoscope (Lea Salonga in concert at Town Hall NY), among others. She is thrilled to combine both passions in flying/dancing and being type-A behind organizing all the things for 5th Wall Studio and Breaking Surface.
